Pauline Fransson (b. 1990, Nybro, Sweden) is a Swedish painter inspired by the woodlands surrounding her studio in Småland. She mainly works with egg tempera and oil on canvas, and her work is underpinned by a profound interest in how fragility can be expressed through the transparency of egg tempera and the opaque, saturated quality of oil paint.

Fransson holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (2021). Her solo exhibitions include Den Blottade Jorden at Bricks Gallery, Copenhagen, in 2026; And now I fell as bodies fall, for dead at Spazio Sassetti, Florence, spanning 2025 and 2026; and De blygas längtan at Berg Gallery, Stockholm, in 2024. Her work has also been presented at Kalmar Art Museum, Vandalorum, Nordic Art Center in Xiamen, Galerie Anhava in Helsinki and Olivia Edwards Gallery in New York, as well as Art Brussels, Market Art Fair and Enter Art Fair.
In 2024, she received a two-year working grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. Her work is represented in the collections of the Public Art Agency Sweden, the art association of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Kalmar Art Museum, Region Kronoberg and Region Kalmar, among others.

Identifying a kinship between nature and the sensitive, impressionable body, Fransson stresses that nature is body and body is nature. The contrast between translucent tempera and dense oil gives this relationship a material presence. Her paintings place human vulnerability within the landscape, attending to the body as both a perceiving presence and a part of the natural world.
